ABTA Launches 2025 Destinations to Watch Campaign

ABTA is energizing its members during the crucial peak booking season with an extensive marketing and public relations campaign.

Today, ABTA unveiled its ‘Destinations to Watch 2025’ report, just before the anticipated Sunshine Saturday. The findings reveal that 68% of respondents plan to vacation abroad, while 53% prefer staying within the UK this year.

The report highlights a growing curiosity for new experiences, with 48% of individuals eager to visit cities or resorts new to them, and 45% interested in discovering an entirely new country.

‘Destinations to Watch’ aims to spark curiosity and provide fresh perspectives on under-explored areas, as well as offer new angles on familiar locations. ABTA’s experts have curated these destinations based on current travel sentiments and trends, rather than simply listing the most frequented spots.

Additionally, ABTA’s ‘Travel with Confidence’ campaign is actively promoting holiday bookings with its members this month, following its November launch.

Since Boxing Day, ABTA has been engaging audiences through social media ads on Facebook and Instagram, scheduled to run through the end of February.

Starting in the first week of January, TikTok promotions will begin, focusing on the benefits of recognizing the ABTA logo when booking holidays. This initiative is complemented by partnerships with influencers who will disseminate related content across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.

In mid-January, a new series of radio advertisements will broadcast on Heart Digital Radio, further encouraging listeners to trust and book with ABTA members.

Graeme Buck, ABTA’s Director of Communications said:

“We know how important the peak booking period is for our members and we want to do all we can to support them.

“The Travel with Confidence campaign is designed with our members and their customers at the heart – offering holiday inspiration and the incentive to book with an ABTA member, for that all important peace of mind when travelling. Last year’s campaign reached a wider audience then ever, and we hope to build on that even more.

“We’re pleased to once again launch our Destinations to Watch report, as a way to get people thinking and talking about the trips they may want to take this year. It also serves a wider purpose to help people think beyond their favourite places, and supports the aim of many destinations to spread tourism across their countries.”
